To finish out a five-game homestand, our Seattle Kraken played a tight game against the Carolina Hurricanes until late, when the Canes pulled away with two late goals. It was an ugly loss for Seattle, who failed to do much of anything offensively and looked loss at times defensively.
The past two wins for the Seattle Kraken have been reminiscent of how the team won during their 2022-23 season that saw them reach game seven of the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, with plenty of contribution throughout the lineup. To highlight those contributions, here’s Silvia-Leija Rosas’ top performers from the Kraken’s 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, October 17th, 2024.
Our Seattle Kraken will close out their three-game road trip, the first road set of the 2024-25 season, with a battle against the Nashville Predators in what certainly won't be an easy feat. Despite being winless through two games to open the year, the Predators remain a tough team and that won't change tonight against our Kraken.
In the second game of a back-to-back, our Seattle Kraken fell in shutout fashion at the hands of the Dallas Stars. A rough first period saw the Stars score twice, but goaltender Philipp Grubauer was solid in ensuring that Dallas did not add on further from that point. Silvia-Leija Rosas provides her top takeaways from this road loss.
In the second game of a back-to-back, our Seattle Kraken head to the Lone Star state for a road battle against the Dallas Stars. Without Vince Dunn and on already tired legs, against a Stars team also playing a back-to-back, tonight's matchup should be a fascinating one.
In the final contest of a three-game in eleven day stretch, our Seattle Seahawks dropped a critical NFC West matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football. Geno Smith played a rough game after a strong start to the season, and a total of three turnovers hurt Seattle as they fell by 12 points to their division rivals.
Our Seattle Kraken began their 2024-25 campaign with a frustrating defeat at the hands of the St. Louis Blues at Climate Pledge Arena, as what seemed to be an exciting second period quickly flipped with a lapse in time where the Kraken were caught sleeping and the Blues took advantage. Here are a few takeaways from the game from Silvia-Leija Rosas.
In their second to last preseason game of 2024-25 and final road exhibition contest of the year, our Seattle Kraken fell short of a positive result as they lost in overtime to the Calgary Flames. CSS Kraken writer Silvia Leija-Rosas provides three takeaways from the loss.
Recently, the WNBA released the information regarding the upcoming expansion draft as the Golden State Valkyries enter the league. CSS writer Christan Braswell details what this draft means for our Seattle Storm
While their own seeding is set with their playoff ticket already punched, a lot seems set in stone for the Seattle Storm. They know that they'll be in the postseason, they'll be on the road to begin the playoffs, but they still aren't quite sure who their opponent will be.
In the final regular season home game that the Seattle Storm played in 2024, the team fell to the Las Vegas Aces without two all-stars in Jewell Loyd and Ezi Magbegor. The Storm hosted the Aces in what will likely be a first round WNBA playoffs matchup, and held their own until very late in the fourth quarter.
A year after one of the worst seasons for the Seattle Storm, record wise, the roster is one of the best in the WNBA and are looking to secure a top four seed in the playoffs. Rowan Schaberg of Circling Seattle Sports discusses the turnaround for the roster and the impacts of Nneka Ogwumike, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and Gabby Williams.
The Seattle Storm will be without two members of their core four for the teams final head-to-head matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks, as the team announced that guard Jewell Loyd and forward Ezi Magbegor are going to miss the game with a knee injury and concussion, respectively.
Gabby Williams is familiar with the Seattle Storm organization, but it's not always easy to fit into a team and feel comfortable, let alone coming off a Silver medal winning run in this years Olympics with Team France. But in recent contests, Williams seems to be growing more comfortable, as our Christan Braswell explains.
Coming off a satisfying road victory against the Atlanta Falcons which snapped a losing skid, the Seattle Seahawks returned home to Lumen Field and dropped a clunker of a result with an ugly loss to the Buffalo Bills that saw Seattle dismantled in the second half.
